How to pray for your child.
Jesus said Let the little children come to me
Matt 19:13-15
Let them come – forbid them not – hinder them not.
Something or someone is in between Jesus and the kids – hindering them from coming to the understanding of salvation and blessing.
As parents we are the only people with the burden and the power take away the hindrance by praying and counseling.
A Director of worldwide catholic institution for children said “When children become adults, after Education, their spiritual and moral values count more than their professional qualities that the world needs and they require for their professional life.”
The Prayer that Paul prayed for his Spiritual Children can be found in Colossians 1:9-11 “…pray for you and asking God”
* To fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
* You may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way:
* Bearing fruit in every good work,
* Growing in the knowledge of God,
* Being strengthened with all power
* May have great endurance and patience, and joyfully’’ (NIV)
We prayer: Lord my child has to have a professional career
Along with that, parents should long to place spiritual blessings upon their children - give more preference to spiritual & moral values
The following are eight things to pray for your children:
1. That Jesus will call them and no one will hinder them from coming.
.(Matthew 19:13–15)
2. That they will respond in faith to Jesus’s faithful and persistent call.
. (2 Peter 3:9)
3. That they will experience sanctification through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and will increasingly desire to fulfill the greatest commandments.
(Matthew 22:37-39)
4. That they will not be unequally yoked in intimate relationships, especially marriage.
(2 Corinthians 6:14)
5. That their thoughts will be pure.
(Philippians 4:8)
6. That their hearts will be stirred to give generously to the Lord’s work.
(Exodus 35:29)
7. That when the time is right, they will accept the calling and minister full time
8. That they will have an understanding future partner that they may go with great calling
(Matthew 28:18-20)
